‘Succession’ star Brian Cox says playing Logan Roy had a ‘terrible effect’ on him

In an interview with SkyNews for the Edinburgh TV Festival, Cox said Logan had a “terrible effect” on him.

“I wasn’t much of a swearer until I took on this role and now I swear all the time,” Cox said. “It’s contagious, it’s contagious.”

The Roy family patriarch is known for his searing, crass monologues on the HBO drama, which is nominated for 25 Emmy Awards.

“Logan is a pretty fascinating character because he’s so mysterious, we don’t really know what he’s thinking,” Cox said. “We know how he acts. We don’t really know how he feels.”

That sense of mystery extends to the upcoming fourth season of “Succession,” as Cox would only reveal a few general plot points.

“I mean, we’re doing our thing, we’re still sorting out what we’re doing with the kids and are they going to behave properly and are they going to learn anything?” Cox said of the Roy family upon returning from the show. “We’re trying to secure the business. And that’s really what we continue to do.”

HBO and CNN are both part of Warner Bros. Discovery.
