Trudeau to reshuffle federal cabinet on Wednesday: sources

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will carry out a small cabinet reshuffle at Rideau Hall tomorrow, CTV News has learned.

Sources tell CTV News that changes to the Liberals’ front seat are not expected to result in major ministers moving, but adjustments will instead focus on more minor portfolios.

The move comes just before the federal cabinet retreat next week in Vancouver, B.C., where Trudeau and his ministers will meet to discuss priorities and set their agenda for the fall.

It is possible that this reshuffling of some ministerial roles is part of the Liberals looking to reset after a summer marked by concerns over inflation, chaos at airports and before the appointment of a new federal Conservative leader on September 10.

Parliament is due to meet again the week of September 19.

More soon.
