MONZA, Italy: Dutch driver Nyck de Vries will make his Formula One racing debut at Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix as a replacement for Alex Albon after the Williams driver was out with appendicitis.
Williams said Thai driver Albon was unwell on Saturday morning and is under treatment after seeking medical advice at a local hospital.
De Vries, 2019 Formula 2 Champion and 2021 Formula E Champion, is the team’s reserve driver.
