Superb Dembele leads Barcelona to victory over Athletic Bilbao

Ousmane Dembele scored and set up Sergi Roberto, Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres as Barcelona overcame Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in La Liga on Sunday (23 October).

Barcelona remain second in the standings on 28 points, three behind leaders Real Madrid and five ahead of third-placed Atletico Madrid.

The hosts scored three times in 10 minutes in the first half, starting with Dembele’s close-range header in the 12th minute.

The French striker then brought Roberto through in the 18th minute with a brilliant one-touch build-up, the Spanish full-back’s shot deflecting off a defender past a helpless Unai Simon.

Four minutes later, Dembele ran down the right channel before switching to Lewandowski, who turned and finished with a powerful shot.

Barca took their foot off the accelerator after the break but Dembele had time to provide another assist with less than 20 minutes to go, bringing the ball in from the left touchline for Torres to score from close range.
