Malaysia’s King to Attend Orchid Baptism Ceremony and Visit Pasir Ris Camp During State Visit to Singapore


SINGAPORE: Malaysia’s King Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will pay a state visit to Singapore this week, the said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Monday, October 24.

The state visit, which will take place from October 25 to October 27, east at the invitation of President Halimah Yacob.

The king will be accompanied by the queen, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, members of the royal family and senior officials.

They will receive a welcome ceremony at the Istana on Wednesday and visit President Halimah, who will host a state banquet in their honor.

“Their Majesties will attend an orchid naming ceremony at Istana for a new orchid hybrid, Queen Dendrobium Azizah of Malaysia, named in their honor,” the MFA said.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Ms. Lee will also call them and arrange a lunch for them.

The Foreign Ministry added that the King will visit Pasir Ris Camp with Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen, as well as NEWater Visitor Center with Minister of Sustainable Development and Environment Grace Fu. .
