Australia are back in Asian Cup Under-20 qualifiers after games were moved from Basra, Iraq

Football Australia announced on Wednesday that its Under-20 side had been reinstated in qualifying competition for next year’s Under-20 Asian Cup after their group matches were moved from the Iraqi city of Basra.

Australia withdrew from qualifying last month over safety concerns after their group was assigned Basra as their hub.

Football Australia said the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has not yet decided on a new venue and schedule for those games, which were initially scheduled for September 10-18.

Australia, Iraq, Kuwait and India are in Group H.
