‘Euphoria’ star Maude Apatow has shared her thoughts on suggestions that her career success is the product of industry nepotism, being dubbed a “nepotism baby.”

Apatow, the eldest daughter of director Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann, plays high school student Lexi Howard on the HBO series. (HBO and CNN are both part of Warner Bros. Discovery.)

She has been involved in many other projects in recent years, having starred alongside her mother in her father’s films, ‘Knocked Up’ and ‘This is 40’.

“I try not to let it get to me because obviously I understand that I’m in such a lucky position,” Apatow told Net-A-Porter. “Many people [in a similar position] have proven themselves over the years, so I have to keep going and do a good job.

She continued: “It’s so early in my career, I don’t have much to show yet, but I hope one day I’ll be really proud of what I’ve done on my own. ”

“Dad always reads what I write, but I have to be at some point. I’ll wait until I’m almost done, then I’ll ask him for notes. I get upset because he’ll come up with a better idea, but he is super helpful. My mom too,” she said.

The third season of “Euphoria” is currently in preparation.

Lexi d’Apatow and her relationship with Fezco [Angus Cloud] became a main storyline last season, which ended in a cliffhanger finale.

“I’m so scared for them!” Apatow told the publication. “I don’t know anything yet, but I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.”
