Forest sign Richards from FC Bayern

Nottingham Forest have signed defender Omar Richards from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on a four-year deal, the Premier League promoted team announced on Sunday.

British media reported that Forest paid Bayern a £9million ($10.82million) transfer fee for the 24-year-old left-back, who once played for England Under-21s.

Richards made 17 appearances in all competitions for Bayern in the 2021/22 season as they won their 10th consecutive German league title but failed to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Forest, who begin their season with a trip to Newcastle United on August 6, have been busy late in the season, signing Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi for a club-record fee and bringing in goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan.
