Former Real Madrid midfielder James Rodríguez has joined Olympiakos

Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez has signed for Olympiacos Piraeus, the Greek champions announced on Thursday.

The 31-year-old returns to European football after a brief stint for Qatari club Al-Rayyan. Olympiakos haven’t revealed the contract details.

Rodriguez previously played for the likes of Porto, Monaco and Real Madrid and won the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot with Colombia after scoring six goals in the tournament.

His spell at Real Madrid lasted from 2014 to 2020 with a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich in between.

Rodriguez will reunite with Brazil full-back Marcelo, who signed for the club earlier this month. Both players had several seasons together in Madrid.
