Highland Park, Illinois, 4th of July Parade Shooting

Suspected shooter Robert “Bobby” Crimo III posted music videos online that he apparently made that featured disturbing lyrics and animated scenes of gun violence.

In a video titled “Are you Awake”, Crimo is seen with multicolored hair and facial tattoos and says, “I just have to do this. It’s my destiny.”

The video shows a cartoon animation of a stickman – who looks like Crimo – in tactical gear performing an attack with a rifle.

In another video titled “Toy Soldier”, a cartoon character similar to Crimo is shown lying face down in a pool of his own blood, surrounded by police officers with their weapons drawn.

Crimo, who calls himself “Awake the Rapper”, has released his music to several major streaming outlets and a personal website. Facebook and Twitter accounts suspected of belonging to Crimo have been deleted after he was named as a person of interest in the mass shooting that killed at least six people. His Facebook profile picture showed him wearing a helmet with a camera mount, a face covering and a multicolored jacket.

On September 24, he posted a video to Twitter that shows him sitting on a classroom-like set, wearing headphones and posing in various scenes while an instrumental arrangement of “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” plays back. -plan.

He hadn’t posted on Twitter since October 26, 2021, when he wrote, “I’m not a robot.”

In another music video for a song called “On My Mind”, Crimo performs in a classroom filled with desks, lockers and blackboards. In the final minute of the video, viewers see a shot of Crimo reaching for his backpack before the music abruptly cuts out. Next, Crimo is seen wearing a helmet and tactical vest, dropping bullets onto the classroom floor, with music from a popular shooter video game, “Call of Duty”, playing on the stage.

The videos appear to have been uploaded last year.
