Kate Bush breaks three world records with ‘Running Up That Hill’

The singer broke three world records, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, thanks to her 1985 song “Running Up That Hill” featured in the final season of the series “Stranger Things.”

Bush now holds the record for the longest time for a track to reach No. 1 on the Official UK Singles Chart; oldest female artist to reach number one on the UK’s Official Singles Chart; and the longest gap between the No. 1 spots on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Former record holder Cher, who was 52 when her hit “Believe” took No. 1 in 1998, took to Twitter to congratulate Bush.

“Well done Kate, records are meant to be broken!! Remember when women used to sell short by date!?” Cher tweeted. “We had 2 fights through the testosterone curtain, and we did it so the girls who came after us could sing as long as they wanted. With mega respect.”

Bush recently posted on his site to thank Netflix and acknowledge “Stranger Things.”
“It features the song ‘Running Up That Hill’ which young fans who love the show are giving a whole new lease of life – I love it too!” she wrote. “It’s all really exciting! »
