Lady Gaga Confirms She’ll Star in ‘Joker’ Sequel Alongside Joaquin Phoenix

Lady Gaga has announced that she will star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming ‘Joker’ sequel.

Todd Phillips, who directed and co-wrote the 2019 film, first teased “Joker: Folie à Deux” in June.

Gaga revealed in her music teaser that the new film is set to be released on October 4, 2024.

No details were provided about his role. But Variety reported earlier this summer that Gaga was in talks to play Harley Quinn in a musical sequel.

Actress Margot Robbie has previously played the role in three DC films — 2016’s “Suicide Squad,” 2020’s “Birds of Prey” and 2021’s “The Suicide Squad.” (CNN shares its parent company with Warner Bros., who is behind these films, as well as “Joker” and its sequel.)

“Joker” was a box office success and earned the Phoenix star his first Oscar for his role as the title character.
