Lea Michele laughs off rumor that she’s illiterate

The Broadway show star has decided to have a little fun with the online conspiracy theory that she never learned to read or write.

Michele recently joined TikTok as she took a break from playing Fanny Brice after testing positive for Covid-19.

Her second posted video pokes fun at the rumor that she is illiterate.
Using audio of Kim Kardashian having a panic attack in a 2017 episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Michele synced the reality star, saying, “It’s amazing, but wait, can- talk to you for a second?”

The video contains text that reads, “I’m calling Jonathan to read me the comments on my first TikTok,” which most people believe refers to his best friend and frequent collaborator, actor Jonathan Groff. The caption of the post reads “lol”, along with some humorous emojis.

Michele recently told The New York Times that she believes the rumor about her is sexist, pointing out that she goes to her hit show “Glee” every day.
“I knew my lines every day. And then there’s a rumor online that I can’t read or write?” she said. “It’s sad. It really is. I often think that if I were a man, a lot of things wouldn’t be the case.”
