Poison frontman Bret Michaels thanks his supporters as he remains hospitalized with a ‘medical complication’.

Michaels was touring with the glam metal band in Tennessee this week when he was hospitalized shortly before a show on Thursday.

“To the amazing Nashville fans, thank you for all your well wishes!! I was really excited to get on stage in Music City and perform, but due to an unforeseen medical complication and following a hospitalization, it wasn’t not possible,” Michaels wrote on Instagram Thursday night.

The singer, 59, did not share what he is currently being treated for, but he has faced health battles before. Michaels has had type 1 diabetes since childhood and suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2010.

On his website on Friday, Michaels shared another update.

“There are not enough words of thanks and appreciation for the well wishes from family, friends and fans,” he wrote. “I cannot thank the amazing and determined medical staff in Nashville enough who helped me, as you can see with multiple IV sites to perform tests and administer fluids. I’m determined to try and rock Jacksonville and come back for a show in Nashville someday soon.

Poison’s hits in the 1980s and 1990s included “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”.

The band is scheduled for a concert Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida, and a Sunday in Mississippi.
