Tiffany Haddish says she lost all of her gigs after abuse complaint

The plaintiffs were referred to as “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” in the suit, which said their names were being withheld to protect their privacy.

According to the complaint, a copy of which was obtained by CNN, “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” were 14 and 7 years old, respectively, when Haddish and Spears allegedly involved them in sexually suggestive videos in separate incidents in 2013 and 2014. .

The couple are siblings and Haddish was a “longtime family friend” of their mother. The incidents allegedly happened when Haddish was supposedly trying to help young people get into show business, according to the lawsuit.

At the time the complaint was filed, an attorney for Haddish said in a statement to CNN that the complainant’s mother “has been trying to assert these false allegations against Ms. Haddish for several years.”

“Every lawyer who initially took on her case – and there were several – eventually dropped the case once it became clear that the claims were without merit and that Ms Haddish would not be moved,” the statement said, adding that the mother “has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.”

Jane Doe filed a notice of dismissal on Tuesday and the case was dismissed with prejudice based on documents provided to CNN by a representative for Haddish. Dismissal with prejudice means the case cannot be refiled.

“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and now we know she would never hurt me, my brother, or help anyone do anything that might hurt us” , Doe said in a statement to TMZ. “We wish Tiffany the best and are glad we can all put this behind us.”

CNN has reached out to “Jane Doe” for comment.

Lawyers for Haddish and Spears did not respond to CNN’s requests for comment.

When asked by TMZ if she thought the layoff might help her, Haddish replied, “I don’t know bro. I don’t have a job.”

In a separate video from TMZ, the actress said she was ‘concerned about the kids and making sure they were okay’, adding that she felt ‘relieved’ the lawsuit was withdrawn. and don’t talk to Spears.
