Three security guards at Wimbledon have been arrested after an alleged fight broke out between the group.

The altercation, which took place at the Grand Slam grounds on Friday, was broken up by officers from London’s Metropolitan Police.

According to the Guardian, the alleged fight erupted in front of fans and began when a worker accused his colleague of taking a three-hour break.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told CNN: “At 2pm on Friday, the July 1st officers on duty at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships were alerted to an altercation on the premises.

“Officers attended. Three men who worked at the event were arrested on suspicion of beating. There were no reports of injuries.

“They were taken into custody and later released on bail until a date in late July.”

CNN has reached out to Knights Group Security, which provides security, and Wimbledon for comment.

A Knights Group Security Company insider told the Guardian the altercation was “embarrassing,” adding: “Arguing in front of fans doesn’t look good. This has damaged the company’s reputation. I can’t believe they did that.”
