Get Up To 50% Off Amazon Using Your Chase Credit Card

There are plenty of Chase credit cards that can earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and while these points are generally best used for travel opportunities, you can also redeem them on Amazon. Although we normally suggest saving them for travel, Amazon is currently running a deal that’s a great way to not only use your Chase Points, but also save on your next Amazon purchase.

Chase credit cardholders targeted for this promotion can save 50% off their Amazon purchase, up to a maximum of $15 back, when they redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points on Amazon by July 15, 2022. D ‘other Chase cardholders are targeted for $10 off a $30 purchase or $15 off a $50 purchase.

If you’re targeted for one of these deals, you’re in luck, because Amazon Prime Day is right around the corner (although you don’t have to wait for Prime Day to use it). But not all Chase cards are targeted, so we’ve broken it down step by step to see if you’re eligible for the discount and, if you are, show you how to apply it to your Amazon order.

To get started, you must have a Chase credit card that earns Ultimate Rewards points. This includes popular credit cards such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Freedom Flex℠. Other Chase credit cards that earn points and miles tied to a specific airline or hotel are unfortunately not eligible for this offer.

If you have a card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you’ll need to link it to your Amazon account and sign up for the “Buy with Points” payment option. You can click this link to add your card to “Buy with Points” or find it under the “Your Account” tab on the Amazon website.

Once your Chase card is linked, click here to activate the 50% off offer. Remember, however, that this is a targeted promotion, so you may see a different offer or a message that you are not eligible. If so, you might want to check back once in a while, because sometimes Amazon targets people later. Also, if you have just signed up for “Buy with Points”, you may have to wait 24 hours to be able to activate the offer.

But if you see the offer, you can register by clicking on the “Activate Now” button, and once registered, you can buy all products on Amazon that are both sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Unfortunately, items sold by third-party merchants are not eligible for this discount, but while Amazon gift cards are also excluded, you can purchase many other gift cards from retailers, such as Best Buy and Whole Foods, and benefit from the discount.

With the 50% off offer, you’ll get the discount on all purchases you make until you reach the maximum savings of $15. However, with the $10 off $30 or $15 off $50 deals, you’ll need to have at least $30 or $50, respectively, of qualifying purchases in your Amazon shopping cart for the discount to appear.

Once your purchases are in your Amazon cart, there is one more step to get the discount to apply to your order. During the checkout process, you will need to select your linked Chase Card as the payment method and then redeem at least 1 point to pay for your purchase. Once you’ve done so, you’ll see the discount appear in your payment total on the right side of the screen.

When you pay with Ultimate Rewards points on Amazon, 1 point equals 0.8 cents, which is not a great value. In fact, loyalty website The Points Guy rates Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents each when you use them for travel. But you only need to redeem 1 point on Amazon for that discount to kick in, and the rest of your total can then be paid for with your Chase credit card.

Be careful, though, because many times Amazon will automatically apply the full point count to your order, so you’ll have to manually change it to just 1 point. To do this, enter $0.01 in the points section, which will only apply 1 point to your payment. Of course, you can apply any number of points you want, but you’ll get more value for your points by using them to travel the entire line.

With so many items on Amazon, we’ve chosen a few examples to show you how the 50% discount can save you money.

In our roundup of the 20 Amazon products our readers loved in June, one of the most popular items was Apple’s AirTags. You can currently get an AirTag for $27.50 on Amazon, but with the 50% discount you’re looking at only paying $13.75 before taxes and shipping.

Or, in our story on the best handheld vacuums in 2022, we named the Black+Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean as the best overall cordless handheld vacuum. It’s currently $59 at Amazon, but if you apply the 50% Chase discount for $15 in maximum savings, you’re only looking at $44, plus tax and shipping.

You can even bundle it with other discounts you find, such as saving $20 when you spend $60 on promoting certain beauty products.

Even if you don’t have a Chase credit card — or aren’t targeted for this particular promotion — there are currently similar Amazon offers for those with Discover or American Express cards. This means that you may still be able to save money on your next Amazon purchase.

Also, other discounts for using your credit card points usually pop up on Amazon from time to time, so even if you’re not currently targeted for one of these offers, keep your credit card enrolled in Amazon’s “Buy with Points” program in case you qualify for another offer at a later date.

And remember, this Chase deal at Amazon is only valid until July 15, 2022, so if you’re targeted, be sure to take advantage of it before it’s gone.
