ATP Round-up: John Isner invades Newport neighborhood


All six seeded players who took the court on Wednesday advanced to the quarterfinals of the Infosys Hall of Fame Open in Newport, RI

Third-placed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan defeated USA’s Jack Sock 6-3 3-6 6-2, and sixth-placed Andy Murray of Scotland defeated Australia’s Max Purcell 4-6 6-2 6 :1 through .

Fourth-placed Maxime Cressy of the United States, fifth-placed Benjamin Bonzi of France, and eighth-placed James Duckworth of Australia also earned victories in the second round. USA’s Steve Johnson earned a bye against seventh-seeded Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic.

Nordea open

Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo defeated top seed Casper Ruud 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in the second round in Bastad, Sweden.

Ruud ended with nine aces against Cerundolo’s zero, and Cerundolo only put in 55 percent of his first serves, but he broke serve in the final game of the game to advance to the quarters.

Third seed Diego Schwartzman of Argentina eliminated Sweden’s Elias Ymer 7-5, 6-3, and Pablo Carreno Busta earned a 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-5 win over Albert Ramos-Vinolas in an all – Spanish duel. Russia’s Aslan Karatsev defeated France’s Hugo Gaston 6-2, 6-4.
