Canada wins men’s 4×100 relay at World Championships

EUGENE, Ore.: A botched final handoff cost the United States gold in the men’s 4x100m relay on Saturday (July 23) as Canada stormed down the home straight to claim the world title.

The Americans looked set to retain their crown until the final switch between Elijah Hall and Marvin Bracy, who lost time with a slow move.

Canadian anchor Andre De Grasse took the opportunity to overtake Bracy on the final stage.

Great Britain finished with bronze.
