France’s Pogba could have knee surgery at the World Cup

TURIN, Italy –

Reacquired Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba underwent surgery on his right knee and was in danger of missing the World Cup with France.

Pogba could be out for up to two months after tearing a meniscus and Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said on Monday he would not return to the club until January.

France will defend the World Cup in Qatar from November 20th to December 18th.

Pogba was injured during a pre-season tour in the United States in July after returning to Juventus from Manchester United two weeks earlier.

It’s been a tough time for Pogba amid an investigation into allegations he was blackmailed by his brother and childhood friends.
