Pat Stay, acclaimed Canadian fight rapper, fatally stabbed



They are investigating the case as a homicide. No arrests have yet been made.

Several hip-hop stars took to social media to pay tribute to Stay.

Eminem wrote: “Hiphop has lost one of the greatest fighters of all time… RIP

@patstay.. KINGS NEVER DIE!”

Fellow Canadian artist Drake commented on a song recently released by Stay, writing, “Pat Stay is definitely one of the best, if not the best.”
Stay was the father of two young children. A GoFundMe campaign, verified by the platform, has been set up for his family to help with funeral expenses.

“He has been removed from the world from far and wide and many will be devastated forever,” read a message from the campaign organizer. “Pat Stay was a very honorable man who was on his way to a bright future. Our heart aches for his family and friends at this time so we hope to help ease some of the pain by ensuring his family is helped throughout this process.

In a 2020 interview with Canadian publication The Signal, Stay opened up about his work ethic and offered his advice to budding artists.

“If you make a beat, take it out and make another 5,000. If you’ve got like 10 songs and you think they’re good, well, make a lot more,” Stay said. “The best people in this industry work hard, every day. It’s drudgery.”
