Olivia Wilde says Harry Styles didn’t spit on Chris Pine

For those who managed to dodge the details, the controversy stems from footage taken at the Venice Film Festival in which Harry Styles, star of Wilde’s ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, was seen making a move which led some to believe he spat on his co-star Chris Pine.

“I think it’s a perfect example of people who will look for drama wherever they can,” Wilde said. said to Colbert. “Harry didn’t spit on Chris, actually.”

A rep for Pine had, of course, also previously tried to clear things up, telling People magazine, “There’s nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion to the contrary is a blatant attempt to create drama that doesn’t simply does not exist.”

Styles also joked about the rumor.
The incident as a whole was one of many buzzing stories that came out of the film’s production and subsequent promotion.

The film itself, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures (which is owned by CNN’s parent company), hits theaters on September 23.
