Feds lift border vaccination mandates, mandatory use of ArriveCan

OTTAWA-

The federal government is expected to formally announce today the end of COVID-19-related border restrictions, including mandatory vaccinations, testing and quarantine of international travelers.

Two senior government sources familiar with the decision have confirmed that the Cabinet Order maintaining COVID-19 border measures will not be renewed when it expires on September 30.

The sources spoke to The Canadian Press last week on the condition that they not be named as they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The change means that foreign nationals will no longer need an approved series of vaccinations to enter the country.

It also means travelers to Canada will no longer be subject to mandatory random COVID-19 testing.

The requirement for unvaccinated Canadians to self-isolate upon return to the country and the mandatory use of the ArriveCan app will also end with the expired order.
