Eva Mendes may have been absent from the scene for a while, but she disputes that she’s off the charts.
The “Hitch” star recently posted a video to her verified Instagram account that was a compilation of a few headlines about her alleged quitting.
“I never stopped acting,” Mendes wrote in the caption. “I wanted to be home with my babies and luckily my other business ventures allowed me to do that more than acting.”
She shares two young daughters with longtime partner Ryan Gosling and said she “wasn’t thrilled with the stereotypical roles I was being offered at the time.”
“Especially after working on the movie LOST RIVER – it was a dream project,” Mendes wrote. “It’s a tough act to follow.”
“Lost River” is a 2014 film written and directed by Gosling that Mendes starred in.
She ended her Instagram post by writing, “What’s the point of this post? To change this narrative. I never gave up.
